About the event
In the first century there are terrible examples of rulers among the Roman emperors and the Herodian leaders.
The king was a symbol of oppressive and abusive power and people feared the king.
Jesus was afraid to say "kingdom of God" without giving a parable that turned everything upside down,
to illustrate that the kingdom of God is not oppressive and abusive.
Kings were difficult, abusive, coercive, hard sell and generated fear.
Servant-Messiah was soft sell and used an inductive teaching style.
