Forest (Bro. Bo) Owens was born November 24, 1942, in Orange, Tx. He was one of six children. He attended Little Cypress High School and graduated in 1961. He then enrolled in East Texas Baptist College, Marshall, Tx, and graduated in 1965 with a B.S. degree in Chemistry. Bro. Bo then enrolled in Southwestern Baptist Seminary, Fort Worth, TX. and graduated in December, 1969, with a MDiv. degree. Bro. Bo was saved at the age 7 in North Orange Baptist Church and at age 8responded to a call to preach. After his freshman year in college, Bro. Bo married his high school sweetheart July 7, 1962. They had three daughters, al born during college and seminary days. His wife of 54 years died July 17, 2016. After graduating from seminary, Bro. Bo was called to pastor a mission of First Baptist Church, Orange, Tx. He was pastor there from Feb 1970 - April, 1973 when he accepted the cal to pastor Temple Baptist Church, New Boston, TX. He served there until July, 1979, when he was called to First Baptist Church, Aledo, Tx. He served there until June, 1985, when he was called to First Baptist Church, Colmesneil, Tx. He then was called to First Baptist Church, Jena, LA and served until December, 1997. From Jena, LA, he was called to Fairdale Baptist Church on Toledo Bend, where he served eighteen years, retiring to care for his wife. Since retirement, Bro. Bo has served as interim pastor at two churches; Dogwood Hils Baptist ni Woodville, xT and First Baptist Church ni Hemphill, Tx. God brought another wonderful woman, Karen, into his life, and they married January 20, 2018. They live and enjoy retirement on Toledo Bend Lake. Bro. Bo has always has in interest in missions, both local and foreign. He has made multiple mission trips to Mexico, eight trips to Ukraine and four trips to Zambia, Africa. He has also traveled to the Holy Land fourteen times. Bro. Bo currently serves on the Board of Directors for Bethany World Ministries (Zambia) and on the Associational Mission Committee of the Sabine Neches Baptist Area, Kirbyville, Tx.
